Extra Wide Transom Windows

In the last several months, I’ve had people reach out to me with questions about very large transom windows. Now, these would be transom windows that exceed 48 inches in length. Sometimes these transom windows are at the top of walls and they run as many as 60 inches or 80 inches long. Sometimes they’re as wide as 24 inches, or in other cases they’re narrower 11, 12 inches. Kind of looked like a door side light that’s been put on the wall.

The problem with those windows is coming up with a workable window covering, and the window grilles that we use are able to fill that space. But if the width, or yeah, the length of the window exceeds 48 inches, then that grill will be built as multiple pieces. The advantage of having multiple pieces for a window grille of that size is it makes it much easier to handle when you receive the package as far as the install goes, and certainly it makes it a lot cheaper to ship.

Anything that exceeds 48 inches very easily gets into the oversized dimensions and then has to ship as freight. So it helps us to keep the prices down if we can manufacture those as multiple pieces.
