How to Order Window Grilles

Dwight Kopp here with Forgotten Mountain. I wanted to do a quick tutorial on how to measure your window for a window grill.

Three Things You Need

There are three things you need to know. You need to know the measurement, you need to pick your pattern, and you need to pick your favorite color. As soon as we have those three things, we can get the grill into production, and our turnaround time is just about seven business days.

1) Two Measurements

There are two measurements that you need for the size itself: the height and the width of the glass itself. This is because the grill is going to attach directly to the glass. Since we use a laser cutter, you can be as picky as you want as far as the measurements because we can cut down to a thousandth of an inch. In this case, I already have my measurements written down. We have a width of 27 5/8″ and a height of 9 5/8″.

2) Your Favorite Pattern

The next piece you need to decide would be your favorite pattern. On our website, we’ve got a chart that looks something like that. You can zoom in on each of these to pick a pattern that you think would look right with your home. All of the grills come with a standard mounting hardware.

3) Your Color Choice

The last question you need to answer is your favorite color. If you happen to be a married man, you’ll have to bring me a signed note from your wife that you are permitted to pick the color. Otherwise, she better do it. The black is hands down our most popular color, followed by the white and the mocha, which is the background color here. I will say that any of the colors that you see on screen are going to be a little bit different than what you actually might get in person because every camera and screen is going to render those colors just a bit differently, but we find that the black mocha and white to be our most popular colors. If you have a specific color that you want to paint it yourself, that’s totally fine. Just indicate that you want yours raw, and we’ll send it out in the natural and you can paint it onsite.
